The Gilded Age – Paris
On the heels of my Florida Gilded Age blogs, Elle Decor’s Special Issue, The Best of Our International Editions, featured this gorgeous Paris apartment by Frederic Mechiche.
The 18th-century trompe l’oeil wallpaper panels are the main inspiration for the color palette as well as the furnishings. Note the distant mirrored door panel design. That is another element which is repeated throughout not just on the doors.
Love the choices for the flooring. Perfect with the trompe l’oeil and the rotunda marble floor. The door panel design is repeated in the side table. Very complimentary.
Lovely use of repeating patterns and switching the same color palette to create quite a different feel to the different rooms.
