Three Dimensional Art – Limewood Carving, Sculpture, Ornament
This is the amazing work of David Esterly who was commissioned to reproduce the Dutch born Englishman Grinling Gibbons masterpiece in Hampton Court Palace which was destroyed by a fire in 1986. Esterly, is American and self-taught wood carver working in limewood. Esterly a Harvard grad and Fulbright Scholar lives in upstate New York. His memoir, The Lost Carving; A Journey to the Heart of Making, explores the connection between creativity and physical work. His creamy white creations are available (on commission) through W.M. Brady & Co. in Manhattan.
Sculpture is elegant, timeless and a classic addition to any space.
Ornament adds another level of beauty, artistry and craftsmanship.
Love this combination of white and platinum.
