Focal Point Bed Designs
I am in the process of designing my bedroom. The first decision is a focal point bed. I revisited earlier posts for inspiration and sources; Beautiful Beds Beautiful Bedrooms , Trend Alert – Bedrooms with Classical Order and The Best Upholstered Beds . One of my favorites is the beautiful Margaret Bed by Oly. Not the one I chose, but it is a beauty.
Here are some beautiful bedrooms with a similar bed. All elegant designs developed around the classic good looks of the bed.
Love the wall panel that frames this focal point bed. A very affordable and doable design using Beaux-Arts Classic Products Architectural Wall Panels. There are several panel designs that would look great with the Margaret Bed.
The French Renaissance wall panel has a scroll and flower in the corner. Retails $199 for four corners and 16′ of moulding. Comes in 21 finishes.
The swag frieze is a lovely compliment to this design.
Shabby chic distressed walls and a chandelier.
Another architectural wall panel but with large panel moulding.
I love the finish on this headboard with the cream upholstery.
You have to look closely to see that the flowers in the headboard center feature and swag have flowers painted the same color as the upholstered headboard. Not for me, but very creative.
This focal point bed has it all. The moulding goes to the floor defining the space for the bed. White River Moulding has beautiful profiles for this design.
Bad focus on this image but I wanted to share it because of the wall panel layout. Love the narrow panels with the sconces.
More interesting panel layouts.
Another fabulous focal point bed design with a beautiful carved headboard.
Wish I had the whole image for this carved headboard.
One-of-a-kind outrageous focal point bed.
Ann Getty’s Turkish Syrian Masterpiece with Mother of Pearl focal point bed.
17th Century Bed Emilio Pucci
This canopy design by Timothy Corrigan is interesting. I have a two-story slanted ceiling.
Love this antique mirror headboard.
Upholstered headboard with mirror accents.
Finally the bed I selected is from thegatz.com. Love it! Can’t wait for the construction phase to be over so I can move in. Will keep you posted on the development of my bedroom design now that I have my focal point bed.
Fortunately for me their physical location is in St. Michael’s on the Eastern Shore. So I got to see the bed in person. St. Michaels’s is a lovely place to visit.
The Inn at Perry Cabin
I also fell in love with a lot of other pieces.
Like this magnificent hand-carved marble sink.
