Why Choose Classic Style Wall Decoration?
“A classic is an outstanding example of a particular style; something of lasting worth or with a timeless quality; of the first or highest quality, class, or rank – something that exemplifies its class.”
The choices you make for your walls are key to your design. Walls are the backdrop for all your furnishings. Having a background that remains up to date regardless of the year of its design is a huge plus.
Is the wall beautiful? I love classic walls because the wall is now beautiful independent of any other choices you make for your wall decoration. Does it suit your personality and personal style to choose classic wall decoration? Classic style wall decoration looks great with all styles with the exception of very modern. Simply, classic walls are beautiful walls. Enjoy.

Architectural Digest article; 7 Classic Home Decor Elements Every Traditional Home Should Have
The article uses Timothy Corrigan’s home. He is a creative genius. The architectural features for doors become wall panel frames for large artwork.
“Molding – Nothing imparts a sense of timelessness and character quite like classic ornamentations. Opt for delicate picture-frame molding on your walls, intricate crown molding or medallions on your ceiling, or columns for a portal back to a more elegant time.”
This is not Timothy Corrigans’s home.

Gilded mirrors – For those living in rental apartments, gilded mirrors leaned against or hung on a wall offer a variation on intricate wall molding but without the construction work. They also add richness and seemingly expand the proportions of a room.
According to Architectural Digest, the next item is “Curtains displayed in a vibrant chinoiserie, floral, or other classic print, full-length curtains add a brilliant splash of color, texture, and dimension. Hang them in a room with tall ceilings to instantly draw the eye upward for an elongating effect.” Since my focus is on classic style wall decoration I would add Chinoserie or Grisaille for wall panels or wall murals.
I posted this beautiful chinoiserie repositionable wallcovering by Tempaper. Lots of beautiful colors and patterns.
That would be so easy to use in conjunction with wall panels. You would order the Chinoiserie Repositionable Wallpaper in the sizes of your wall panels. The easiest wall panels to install are Beaux-Arts Classic Products Wall Panel Sets which come in 16 finishes and four different styles. The sets include 16′ of panel moulding, corners and centers or not.

Classic Style Wall Art – Ornamentation
Ultimate Classic Style Wall Decoration
Love this panel. This is possible using Decorators Supply composition ornament.
Decorators Supply is widely recognized with the most extensive, authentic and finely crafted carving ornaments in the industry. Their library exceeds over 16,000 ornaments spanning all major periods and styles.
From these carvings they manufacture beautifully detailed composition (“compo”) reproductions, utilizing a formula comprised of all natural ingredients. This formula dates back hundreds of years. In fact the famous English architect Robert Adams (for whom the Adams Style is named) utilized composition ornaments on many of his furniture pieces back in the mid – 1700’s, and compo ornaments appear in the collections of major museums, including the Winterthur, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Museum of Early Southern Decorative Arts.
Being comprised of all natural ingredients, their ornaments are best when applied within a few weeks of receipt while still fresh & pliable.
